Tips for DGR
Angie Davison Slater gave an excellent session on 19 May on how Reservoir Neighbourhood House became a recognised Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) which has enabled them to get Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. They can now approach more philanthropic trusts directly and can offer salary packaging for staff. The first step is to contact Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and get a case manager. Thanks Angie for sharing your experiences and what you learnt the hard way!
