And then there was one...

It is with mixed emotions that I have realised there is only one session left of our 2016 programme at Woodside High School! I am happy that summer is on the way, but on the other hand I am sad that our time with our newest cohort of students is at an end.

What is next for One Degree in both the short and long term? Well, as you read this our students are involved in a busy week of exams. After our final session on the 28th May we have a mentor dinner planned for the 31st May - details on this are below. Thank you to Stax Diner for once again playing host. Then our students will have to wait until the 25th August before receiving their exam results. Finally, our 2016 programme will conclude with our student graduation in September 2016 - details on this are below.

From June onwards we are straight into fundraising mode and planning for our next programme which we hope will start in October 2016.

We hope to see you dropping by for our final session on the 28th May and/or for our volunteer dinner on the 31st.

Thank you for all your support,

Roger Wynne-Dyke
CEO, One Degree

Burger chaos!

Burgers, milkshakes, fries, leis, Hawaiian tunes...it was (organised) chaos and well handled by Kua 'Aina for our end of programme student dinner.

Over dinner we handed out some fun awards to the students: For those of you that need to brush up on the latest slang we have included links to the meanings ;)

Our more serious awards, including our One Degree student of the year and our Maths and English awards, will be handed out at our final session on the 28th May from 1600-1700. Prizes up for grabs are an iPad, an Amazon Echo and Nandos vouchers. Please join us if you can.

Thanks to Kua 'Aina and The Coach People for supporting this event with much needed discounts.

Mentor madness!

Whether you have joined us for one or 10 sessions, or even if you have not managed to participate this year at all, we would love it if you can join us for our annual volunteer dinner. Please join us on the 31st May for burgers, waffles and milkshakes (alcoholic or not) at Stax Diner.

Here are the details: To confirm your spot - Sign up here or reply to this newsletter.

See you there!

Join us for our annual graduation party

We would love you to join us for our 2016 Student Graduation, our favourite event on the One Degree annual calendar.

Following the student exam results on the 25th August, our graduation allows us to look back our programme and congratulate all our students for their hard work and dedication.

Please join us at The Kids Comedy Club at Soho Theatre in west London on Saturday, 17th September 2016.

The afternoon event will run from 1300 to 1700 and include lunch, drinks, a few youth performers, our formal presentation of student certificates, and by student request this year - a DJ for some dancing.

Space is limited so please do sign up ASAP!
