First day of Para World Sailing equipment evaluation in Lake Garda, ITA
Day one of the Para World Sailing equipment evaluation saw current Paralympic class sailors take to the water of Lake Garda in the first trial of the selected boats. Launching out of Fraglia Vela Malcesine, Italy, sailors of all disabilities were welcomed to sail the proposed equipment so that they can give feedback and contribute to the selection process of new classes within Para World Sailing.

Day two - First Para World Sailing equipment evaluation complete, ITA
The second and final day of the first Para World Sailing equipment evaluation saw the Fraglia Vela Malcesine play host to more sailors testing proposed Paralympic equipment. Taking time out of training for the upcoming Garda Olympic Week and the Para World Sailing Championships in Medemblik at the end of the month, sailors tested and critiqued the boats on a sunny Lake Garda.

Knock Down, Beat Up at WetaFest, USA
Now in its fourth year, WetaFest, Fort Walton Beach, FL in April is the place to be! 19 boats, nine first-timers and three new Skippers were in contention for the title. According to newcomer, Brig North, “Sailing the Weta this past weekend was the most fun I’ve ever had on the water.

A Black Cloud, a Rumble of Thunder, UK
It was a weekend race at my club, this time scheduled to be held out in the firth rather than in the usual tidal but sheltered bay. Eight dinghies went out in very light wind and it quickly became apparent that this was not a Weta day so I stopped racing, went for a reach and then went back into the bay.

4 heures de catamaran: Ange et Aurel performants en Weta, NC
Pierre, j’ai invité Aurel pour naviguer aux 4 heures du Catamaran Club de Nouméa »! Ange a la banane ! Aurel, c’est son frère de régate, comme il l’appelle. Une association qui ne doit rien au hasard: ces deux régatiers de talent appartiennent au même club et sont liés d’amitiés même si 6 années les séparent.

Swedish Snow Sailing! SWE
One F18, one Hobie 16 and TWO Wetas entered the raid over Sweden's second biggest lake Vättern. It is a cold and deep lake and you can drink the water where ever you go. We choose a good day because we had wind, sun, waves and snow. But it was cold, really cold. But we were determined to let the season begin.

New Weta owner, all smiles! USA
New Weta owner, Eric Frank was all smiles when he took his daughter, Mattie out for a social sail with some other Weta sailors at Jordan Lake near Raleigh, North Carolina. Even in light air, this sure was a lot faster and more fun than the Opti that Mattie has sailed. Hopefully, this will be the beginning of a father/daughter team for WetaFest 2017!

EZ Race Report - Hot Donutz Edition, USA
Elvstrom-Zellerbach Regatta. San Francisco Bay once again came through with stellar Weta racing conditions for this storied event taking place along the city front, on the same epic race track competed on during the last America’s Cup. The legends came out to play in many classes, from F18 to 505’s, Lasers and the largest class of 420 high school racers seen in years. It must be 420 month. Oh the towel popping in the locker room!
