My dear Friends,
I pray you and your family are well. I continue to be doing very well. Exams will descend upon the seminary in 2 weeks so I want to give you a little update before I become a temporary hermit!

This Could have been me...

You may not know, but my generation was just ordained to the diaconate! Generation is a very relative term in the Legion, since all of our seminarians have a personal path. However if I didn't do my license in philosophy...then yes, I would have been in this ordination class. Seeing some of the brothers that I joined with as deacons already is so encouraging and I know 2 years is right around the corner for me!

Double packed Summer...

In case you are wondering about my summer schedule I have 2 experiences that are both going to be amazing.
  • First, after our community vacation, all of the brothers of 1st year Theology will be doing a thirty-day silent retreat! 30 days so it should be a pretty life changing event...normally we only have about 2 chances in our lifetime to do something like this. Even though I know it will be challenging I am definitely looking forward to it!
  • The retreat ends on August 20th and on the 21st I will be going to Mexico for a month to help raise funds for me and my brother seminarians in Rome. As you can imagine I am excited to share about the life and experiences of the seminary. The photos below are from my first and only time that I have been to Mexico, which was for a Mission trip 5 years ago. I won't be in the mountains like last time or building roofes for people but it will be great to go back and we´ll see what God has in store!

My Side Projects

I know that a lot of times I always tell you all that I am very busy. So I thought I might share with you some of the projects that I have been working on lately, besides of course the normal duties as a student and seminarian.
  1. Catholic Motivation: For a long time I have been investigating into some modern applications of Catholic spiritual life. My dream and work for the future is to create e-mail courses that help others develop their spiritual life according to the Catholic Tradition. Connected with that is making Catholic Motivational videos. Right now all the material out there is about getting rich or getting fit...please keep this project in your prayers. Maybe I will have something ready by December!
  2. Communications Office for the Seminary: Our seminary here is the largest in Rome, one of the largest in the world and we have a very international group of students! With that being said I have been making some proposals so that as a seminary we potentialize all of our capabilities of sharing all of the good that we receive and do. Without a doubt, we can help the Church with a positive image of the New Evangelization and seminary formation for the world!
Even if these and other projects dont pan out, the experience so far has been well worth it with everything that I have learned in the process.
