The Beginning of the End

Acts 2:1-21

Pentecost, the Day the Holy Spirit came upon the Church, filling the disciples, and empowering them to bear witness to Jesus, was the beginning of the end, the last days. That is what Peter tells the crowds who marvel at the Christians who are speaking languages they do not know. The promise God gave to Israel, that one day the Spirit would enable all to prophesy, had been fulfilled. And it was all through Jesus.

Church Flowers. Church flowers are available every week for only $15.00 per bouquet. There is a sign-up sheet located on Deaconâ€™s Table in Narthex. Please also notify Rosemary Hargreaves re your flower request.

Church Flea Market, June 4. Come to the Flea Market on Saturday, June 4th, from 9:00-2:00. Buy a table and sell your stuff. Come look around and buy some new stuff. Bring in your stuff and donate it to the Church to sell at the Church table. Come for the food and fellowship. By all means come! There is still time to buy a table. Contact Jane VanderLeeuw, Jesse Acosta (Barlow), or contact the Church Office for pricing and reservations. Anyone, from within the church or from the community, may buy a table.

Philadelphia Interfaith Hospitality Network. We are once again hosting the families that are part of the Philadelphia Interfaith Hospitality Network in May. We still need people to cook meals, host meals, and stay overnight. If you are interested in volunteering speak with Susan Jorett or contact the Church Office.

Adopt-a-Child for Vacation Bible School! VBS is fast approaching! From July 11-15, 9:00-12:30, nearly 100 children from our neighborhood will be in this building to learn about Jesus. You can be a part of this great event and ministry by volunteering in a variety of ways. You can also support this work by â€œadoptingâ€ a child for VBS. Your gift of $20 will cover the cost of one child attending this special week. We do not charge the families to attend so as not to hinder the proclamation of the Gospel, although we do take a free will offering at the end of the week. Your extra gift of $20 will make a difference. Of course, gifts of any amount are welcome! Place your gift in a pew envelope marked â€œVBSâ€. Thank you for being a part of this ministry God has given us!
