Klevar Newsletter - May 2016
Hi <<First Name>>,
This month it’s all about Accessibility, with our free webinar on making your courses a pleasure to use.
Meeting accessibility standards is about ensuring that all people can access your materials, regardless of any disability. Imagine if you broke your wrist and couldn’t use your mouse. That would impact on your ability to access learning materials - that’s they type of thing we are talking about.
Meeting web accessibility requirements is not something to be 'bolted on' to the end of the project. Rather we incorporate it from the start. The core principles to making content perceivable, operable, understandable and robust underpins all decisions, including design, structure, navigation, content, LLN (Language, Literacy and Numeracy) levels and coding decisions.
Here are some links to get you thinking about accessibility and making your learning materials accessible.
UniSA run a Professional Certificate in Web Accessibility - Greg has just completed this and found it to be a useful introduction to accessibility.
Finally, Melanie will be at EduTech at the end of May if you are in Brisbane and want to say hello, send us an email to organise it. We can also offer 10% discount - so email us and we will send you a link to use.
Have a great month!
