Creative and Cultural workshops for schools from award winning World Jungle

World Jungle Creative Schools - June 2016

Road to Rio special edition!

The Olympics provide a fantastic opportunity to learn about different cultures, celebrate differences, broaden horizons and inspire positive behaviour and aspiration.

 Carnival Music, Dance & Arts

Capture the spirit of South America and explore Brazil's rich and colourful heritage with our carnival workshops.  Carnival provides the perfect medium to explore South American culture in its many forms. The colours, energy and sounds can not fail to inspire. World Jungle carnival workshops cover the music, arts and costumes associated with the carnivals of Rio de Janeiro enabling children to develop costumes, banners and headdress, as well as learn the incredible moves and rhythms which accompany the events.

"The carnival workshop this afternoon has been FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and your artist - Annet (pictured above) - is brilliant, the children are infatuated with her!"  Belmont School, Cheltenham

Samba Drumming

Our samba drumming experiences create lots of fun and enjoyment, whilst also teaching about culture, history and rhythm. It usually doesn't take long to produce a good sound on these instruments, making samba workshops accessible to people of all ages and abilities, building confidence and a sense of pride in the music produced. The workshops help improve co-ordination and sense of rhythm, develop listening skills, and encourage teamwork and cooperation by playing together as a group.

“WOW!  What a fantastic morning our Reception children have had.  Each of our 3 classes have had a brilliant time and will certainly be talking about it for a long time.  All children were engaged and excited by the session which was well led and pitched beautifully at their level meaning all children were able to access the session fully.  We would definitely do it again.  Thankyou.”  Meadowbrook Primary School

Exploring British Values through the Olympics

The Olympic Games provide the ideal umbrella under which to introduce many themes within the British Values curriculum. They offer a platform where we can come together to celebrate differences, learn about cultural diversity and world citizenship, develop respect and tolerance, broaden horizons and inspire positive behaviour and aspiration.

World Jungle's 'Exploring British Values through Creativity and the Arts' (EBVCA) is a programme of workshops that incorporates a mixture of creative activities including games, dance, storytelling, drama and arts to explore key British values as identified by the Department for Education and Ofsted.

Our tutors are experienced in using the arts to explore complex ideas in an age-appropriate and engaging way, bringing the topic to life for your pupils.

Together with delivering workshops directly to pupils, we also offer staff training on how to embed British Values and support the successful delivery of the SMSC curriculum.  Please contact Ben Ward at World Jungle for more information on how we can support your school.
