Annual Membership Meeting & Morel Stuffing Grill Out: Sunday, May 22

The CMS Annual Membership Meeting and Morel Stuffing Grill Out will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Lively Park in Springfield.

CMS will provide plenty of fresh Morels for Stuffing and Grilling. Bring a stuffing for the morels or another dish you would like to bring and share at this fun event.

We will also be confirming the election of our new Board Members for 2016-2017.  An email invitation to the Meeting/Grill Out and a link to vote for the new Board Members has been sent to current members.

CMS Meeting Featured Presentation: Fungi Pigments and Spalted Wood: Wednesday, May 25

Dr. Sara Robinson, of OSU will talk about Wood Spalting.  Dr. Robinson has spent close to one-third of her life studying the interactions of different fungal species in wood. The process of wood spalting produces a stunning array of colors in wood by directing the specific interactions of living fungi. Her pioneering work “bridges the gap between artists, scientists, designers, architects, and engineers who utilize wood resources.”  Come hear and see what wood spalting is all about.
