Excel Academy PCS decreased its academic school calendar to better suit the needs of their student population. YouthBuild PCS is now an independent local education agency for the purpose of special education.
New Charter School Proposals
This year the board received two charter school proposals. The board conditionally approved Sustainable Futures to open a new public charter school in school year 2017-18. Board denied the application of Interactive Academy. While the Board felt the school had an innovative proposal for a unique school, it did not demonstrate the expertise necessary to run a successful program.
