Blessing of new LVF home...DIBI Bulacan
Blessing of LVF's new home
A year after construction began the new LVF home was blessed on April 11th beginning with Mass officiated by the Most Reverend Honesto F. Ongtioco, Bishop of Cubao and then each floor of the home was blessed. It’s a superb building and will over time accommodate many children and youth for alternative learning as well as technical/ vocational training. It will become LVF’s headquarters, a central protection desk for its Child Protection Clinic on Wheels, and no doubt a host of child protection activities. A brilliant day for LVF and the Salesian sisters and of course for the children who were delighted to see their new home. The blessing was followed by lunch, dances by the children and presentation/acknowledgement of sisters and staff members. The foundation, which has grown a great deal in its 25 years, now begins a new era as it can help more children and engage in a wider range of activities which eventually will be a child protection learning institute. That the foundation is guided and led by the Salesian sisters gives it an enormous advantage over other NGO's; not only in its longevity, but also they can ensure that the quality of care and formation is not compromised by the shifting sands of secular thought or opinion but firmly anchored in the faith and Christian conscience.
LVF YEHEY Leaders facilitate DIBI in Bulacan
Around 60 girls participated in the Youth Helping Youth (YEHEY)  - Dream It…Be It (DIBI) Conference Workshop at St. Mary’s College, Baliuag, Bulacan last April 24, 2016. A new breed of YEHEY facilitators emerged from this workshop. They gave life to the group so there was never a dull moment during the sharing sessions.  The participants were able to come out of their shells, and found the whole session worthwhile because they found a new circle of friends. These sessions will help them to overcome their problems and to stay focused and follow their dreams.
