Dear Parents

The school was a much quieter place without our 54 Year 5s and the 6 staff who accompanied them to Ironbridge for their first residential trip away. They had a great few days, enjoying the opportunity to learn away from the classroom and to spend time away with their friends. There is so much to do around that area and they packed in many different activities.  My thanks to all the staff who accompanied the trip. Residential trips are very exhausting for everyone, I am sure they are glad it is Friday!

EYU children have a go at Pilates

Tick tock, tick tock! What's the time on the clock? The children have been making clocks and showing o'clock and half past times. Sebby excitedly told the class about the tadpoles he is looking after, in his pond at home. The children have been exploring life cycles.

Reception children create alien menus

‘Come to tea on planet Zum Zee’ by Tony Mitton was our book of the week. This provided a fantastic starting point for writing our own alien menus. The children worked very hard to add a quirky twist  to their favourite foods.

Year 2 children design mystical sea creatures

This week in Year 2 we have been looking at non-chronological reports in English. We began by identifying the features in a report; we noticed that they have very similar features to those that we included in our information booklets about India last term.

Year 3 British Museum trip cut short by protesters

On Thursday this week, Year 3 excitedly set off on their trip to see the Elgin Marbles in the British Museum, London. Unfortunately for us, Greenpeace had chosen this day to stage a demonstration, mounting the large columns at the front of the museum to unveil huge banners protesting against BP's sponsorship of a new exhibition, Sunken Cities, due to open that day.

Year 5 reflect on a great trip to Ironbridge

Year 5 had an action packed 3 days at Ironbridge.  We visited the Ironbridge itself, as well as several local landmarks and museums, including the Jackfield Tile Museum for the first time.  We all went on a ‘Treasure Hunt’ on the first evening, although this soon became a very refreshing circular walk as we lost track of the rather muddled clues!  The children returned tired, but full of enthusiasm for the trip - some of their testimonials follow

On the evening of Thursday 19th, four members of staff and thirty Year 5 and 6 children went to watch Richard III in the grounds of Pipers Corner School. This was our third visit to the Fourways Theatre open air production and it proved to be just as enjoyable as the previous two shows.

This workshop is aimed at adults and children (age 6-12) who have not studied Japanese language. All children must be accompanied by an adult, and all adults must be accompanied by a child!
