Pacific Transit is a Public Transportation Benefit Area (PTBA) serving the southwest Washington county of Pacific.  With 0.3 percent sales tax approved in 1980, Pacific Transit provides more than 21,000 service hours serving nearly 130,000 passenger trips annually. Pacific Transit provides service to the communities of Aberdeen, Bay Center, Chinook, Long Beach, Naselle, Ocean Park, Oysterville, Riverdale, Riverview, South Bend, Raymond, and Astoria Oregon. 

The Washington State Transit Association is proud to call Pacific Transit a member.
Associate Member Spotlight

The Washington OneNet (WON) program was created in September 2013 to develop a comprehensive design for FirstNet in Washington State.  The program is under the co-direction of the Office of the Chief Information Officer and State Interoperability Executive Committee (SIEC).  Bill Schrier, the SIEC Chair, serves as the program lead and the FirstNet State Point of Contact (SPOC).  Washington OneNet’s priority is to ensure that FirstNet produces a design that meets the needs and expectations of Washington’s public safety community.

FY 2017 Transportation Funding Advances
in both Houses

On Wednesday, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing, Urban Development (THUD) and Related Agencies approved by voice vote the Fiscal Year (FY) 2017 THUD bill. The full Appropriations Committee could consider the bill as early as next week, with Floor action possible sometime in June.

Leadership APTA Class of 2017 Application Deadline

Each year, the Leadership APTA Committee selects 25 individuals from among APTA member applicants to participate in an intensive year-long program that includes skill-building workshops, conferences, executive roundtables, team leadership projects, teleconferences, online meetings, and web-based events.

The early bird deadline for this year’s Public Transportation Conference is approaching! Register by May 31 to save $25!

As in years past, you will find a focused combination of technical support, training, workshops, vendor and educational displays, inspiring speakers, and limitless networking opportunities for public transportation providers, planning organizations and partnering agencies. WSDOT will also host the annual Roadeo Sunday afternoon, and the Wall of Fame dinner and awards recognition banquet Tuesday evening.
