Newsletter
August 2016
Welcome to the latest newsletter.
Apologies for missing out the July newsletter this year. I fully intended writing it before going on holiday but just ran out of time.
I've been back over a week now and it seems like I've never been away. A big thanks to customers who waited patiently for me to return from holiday before bringing their items in to be framed.
Have a read of the newsletter to see what I've been up to, and see if it inspires you to get something framed this month.
Thanks
Peter

 Previous work:

A selection of frames completed during the last few months...
Artwork
This artwork was brought in in a skinny, antique frame for me to reframe.
We chose a mount combination that highlighted the colours in the print and a metallic scoop frame to finish it off.
Jigsaw
This customer brought in a completed jigsaw that was centred on their home address.
It's mounted on top of foamboard and floating on the coloured mountboard, with a spacer to keep the glass off the surface of the jigsaw.
How much better is this than having it stuffed in a box at the back of a cupboard?
Canvas frame
This was a massive canvas, over 1.5m wide, and the customer brought it back from a trip abroad.

It had been taken off the stretcher bars for travelling so I had to make a stretcher frame, and stretch the canvas onto it.
I then made a hand-finished black frame to go round the outside.
This photo is from the customer showing it on the wall.

Newspaper

This is a genuine piece of Hollywood history.
The newspaper was a prop from the original Superman movie and was brought in to me in a cheap Ikea frame for it to be framed properly.
Rather than using a mount on top of the newspaper we decided to frame it 'floating' inside. This was done by placing a piece of plastic over the top to keep it safe.
We then chose complementary mount and metallic frame combination, ready to hang on the wall in the customer's man-cave!
