LOCAL HARVEST
The Sunshine Coast + Surrounds Regional Food Directory
Hi <<First Name>>
So many foodie things to do... so little time...
Having said that, it has been a very busy year with lots happening on the foodie front, especially on the Sunshine Coast.
There are a few new producers on the The Sunshine Coast Regional Food Directory so make sure you check them out.
With the milk industry in the media and the growing concern for our dairy farmers, there has never been a better time to find out who and where our producers are - why wait for an industry to get to crisis point before we start supporting them! We should be supporting local whenever we can, so The Sunshine Coast Regional Food Directory is a great place to start - it was why I created it in the first place - so #supportlocal
If you are a producer, or you know of a producer that should be on the directory, please get in touch.
Some more new websites for you to check out... Lindols Macadamias, a grower and producer of macadamia nut products, as well as Big Heart Bamboo a Sunshine Coast grower of bamboo shoots - there is a story on Big Heart Bamboo as well. Also Noosa Fish Providores - they are only of my favourite seafood suppliers on the coast - their signature smoked salmon and gravlax is sensational!
And... if you are looking at entering the food industry Food Tech Solutions may be of help to you. Kerri can help you with your food labelling, nutritional values, product developing and food packaging, so check her out too!
And there is a competition from Hum Honey where you get the chance to win one of their exquisite Cold Fusion honey sets.
I also had a wonderful foodie recognisance mission to Tasmania last month. While I have a few stories yet to write, you may like to check out some of the ones I have done... Hartshorn Distillery, Grandvewe Cheese, the Tasmanian Food and Wine Conservatory, Bangor Wine & Oyster Shed, and the Pigeon Hole Cafe - Tasmania is definitely a foodie mecca.
And finally, if you are visiting the Sunshine Coast and would like some great foodie experiences, Matilda Scarfe from Gourmet Afrika has a great foodie tour lined up, where you can visit some food producers that are not normally open to the public, so check out the details and really get to see the Sunshine Coast from a true foodie's perspective. Visit Sunshine Coast Gourmet Tour
Enjoy your foodie reading!
Kind regards and all things food!
