 The deadline for submitting proposals to this year's International Conference has been extended to June 10!
Scheduled to be held in Seoul on October 15 & 16, 2016, the theme for the conference is "Shaping the Future: With 21st Century Skills."

 KOTESOL members get an onsite registration discount at the 2016 Christians in ELT International Conference this month! Co-coordinated by the KOTESOL Christian Teachers SIG and the Christian English Language Educators Association (CELEA), the conference will be held June 24 & 25 at Yonsei University in Seoul. The conference theme is "Collaboration in the classroom and beyond," and conference plenary speakers include Chuck Sandy, Jan Dormer, and John Liang. For additional information, please click here.

The KOTESOL national treasurer and secretary are both leaving Korea, and their successors will not be elected until October. We need volunteers to take over each position before the current occupants leave! You will only be in the position until October (though you are strongly encouraged to run for the office, if you enjoy the work), and training will be provided. The KOTESOL Research Committee invites all members, both experienced researchers and novices, to apply for a research grant. Submit your application by October 31. Additional information and submission guidelines can be found online.

KOTESOL is pleased to announce the inception of a new special interest group (SIG): the Social Justice SIG. Officially inaugurated at the National Conference last month, this new SIG is aimed at educators "interested in social justice and critical approaches to education in Korea," with the goal of "[promoting] positive and pacific transformative social outcomes through teaching and learning." To ensure the prompt delivery of The English Connection (TEC) and other materials, please confirm your mailing address at koreatesol.org today! PLEASE make sure you are using the new Korean street name and new 5-digit postal code assigned by the post office, and addresses must be in the proper format (example available online). Click here for additional information about potential problems.
To edit your address, first log in to the KOTESOL website and navigate to your account profile. The address you need to update is under the " Edit" tab, labelled " Postal Mailing Address Label."
NOTE: The addresses listed under the "Address Book" tab, labelled "Default Billing Address" and "Default Shipping Address," are NOT used by the Publications Committee.
Reminder: You can opt out of hard-copy mailings, if you'd rather go green and read TEC only in electronic form! This option is available in your online profile, under the "Edit" tab. Just scroll down and click on the box next to "Do Not Send (Postal) Mailings." TEC and other publications will always be available to members online, regardless of your choice here.

The Korea TESOL Journal accepts submissions on a rolling basis and welcomes papers from all members. Submit now to be considered for Volume 12, Number 2, to be published in 2016. Classroom Observation Program
If you'd like to be paired with an experienced teacher to observe their class or ask them to give feedback on your own classes, please fill out the request form online. Experienced teachers, volunteer here to observe or be observed!

Hard Copies of Publications
The Proceedings 2014 and Korea TESOL Journal 11-2, the most recent issues of each publication, are available online. Hard copies of each are available to members upon request; please visit the respective publication pages to learn more.

Save a Tree! Opt Out of TEC Hard Copies
Did you know you can opt out of receiving hard copies of The English Connection (TEC)? Just select "Don't Send (Postal) Mail" in your online profile ("My account" --> "Edit" tab --> scroll to the check box just below the "Postal Mailing Address Label" box):
You'll still be able to access all issues of TEC online--even the most recent ones, as long as your membership is current.
