Bishop of Ottawa

My Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
I am deeply thankful to you — the people of our great Diocese, our Anglican community, family, and friends — for your very best wishes and assurances of prayers for me and Catherine. It is hard to find the right words to express our sincere gratitude for the outpouring of support we have received. Thank you so very much.

I continue to rest comfortably at home, and anticipate that, in due course, the prescribed treatments will allow me to fully heal. My physicians are highly skilled and very attentive, and I have great confidence in them.

In the meantime, I have appointed The Venerable David Selzer and The Very Reverend Shane Parker to be my Commissaries, so that day to day matters will be looked after appropriately. I am grateful to them for their work and for keeping me apprised of the ongoing life of our Diocese. While placing top priority on healing at this time, I will exercise my episcopal ministry whenever possible
 — and look forward to those opportunities to be directly involved.

My prayers are with each of you as we embark upon this rich season after Pentecost, a time of growing in Christ and of sharing God's compassion and justice in words and actions.

May you all be filled with the confidence and joy of the Holy Spirit.
Bishop of Ottawa
Yours in Christ,
