This week we're looking at toys, apps and play ideas to help develop your child's hand-eye coordination. Being able to coordinate visual information with hand movement is needed for everything from catching a ball to writing. It has even been suggested that hand-eye coordination improves cognitive and social skills.
Colouring in, building blocks and remote-controlled cars are all good ways for children to practise their hand-eye coordination. Sports and balance games can also help, such as playing catch.
In apps, children may need to drag an objects into a location, or control a moving object. This helps them become aware of coordinating the visual infomation with their hand control.
