1926: A talk by John Winter Russell. a New York lawyer who famously debated (rather poorly) Margaret Sanger on the topic of Birth Control in 1921. Editor's Note: We have yet to discover what his talk on WNYC was about.
1945: Mayor F. H. La Guardia pays tribute to the martyrs of Lidice; Eisenhower's big reception in NYC on June 19; citrus fruits and ceiling prices; a central bus terminal and complaints from residents of Queens County about race track bettors who park their cars on private property.
1964: Israeli Prime Minister Levi Eshkol talks about his nation's position in the world; particularly as regards the dispute with the Arabs and Israel's technological and economic development.

James L. H. Peck
African-American combat ace James Lincoln Holt Peck is a guest on Those Who Have Made Good, the NAACP sponsored WNYC program. Peck is credited with shooting down five enemy planes during the Spanish Civil War, flying against fascist German and Italian fighter pilots. He is the author of the bestsellers , Armies With Wings and So Your're Going to Fly. (James Peck in 1941/PM Photo/WNYC Archive Collections).

WNYC - Like the Post Office and The Library of Congress
In 1946 folksinger Woody Guthrie wrote to Duncan Emrich, the head of the Archives of the American Folk section at the Library of Congress.  He was responding to a request to return to the library with more songs for the collections there. He said he likes the library.
