Women in business networking at WNA
eNoticeBoard | Women's Network Australia
Week 22 - Tues,  31 May, 2016
Lynette Palmen AMDear NO,

A big thank you to all the business women who submitted articles, products and especially those who secured advertising space in the Winter issue of our magazine - Working Women.

We love  profiling and promoting businesses run by women across the nation, and let's face it nothing feels as satisfying as submitting an article to a magazine and then discovering it was considered valuable enough to be published.

The Winter issue of Working Women magazine will be in circulation from tomorrow. As part of the suite of membership benefits WNA Members enjoy a complimentary copy of the magazine will be in the post to all members this week.

If you are not a Member of WNA but want to get your hands on our magazine so you can have a good read - simply order your copy here.

Have a great week and remember – "Results respond to effort, labour and activity."

Regards,

Lynette L Palmen AM

MONEY trumps love. A survey by Credit Savvy found one in two Australians would consider breaking up with partners who had money trouble; and approximately 70% of women prefer good finances over a good body, whereas about 60% of men prefer a good body over good finances. Tell us something we didn’t know!

ABS STATISTICS reveal the number of businesses actively trading in Australia has increased for the second year in row. While there was a small drop in the number of new business registrations in 2015, the overall number of businesses operating in Australia has increased thanks to a decline in exit rates. There were 2.12 million businesses trading in Australia in June 2015, according to ABS data – a 1% jump in comparison to the previous year. Interestingly the most actively trading businesses, were found to have an annual turnover of under $200,000.

WESTPAC has released research which reveals Australia has a gender earnings gap of $123.4 billion a year. The research also shows women earn less than men at every stage of their career, highlighting why accelerating gender parity should be an economic imperative.
