Volunteer at Rider home games!

We need you to volunteer at Saskatchewan Roughrider home games! RCR provides 20 volunteers for each Rider home game to work at the Western Pizza concession booths in the East and West stands. This is a valuable, consistent source of funds for RCR which allows us to pay for veterinary care for Regina’s abandoned cats and kittens. There are two upcoming home games this month - June 11 and June 30. If you can volunteer at these games (or any home games this season), please email Ellen Williams. Come sell some pizza to hungry Rider fans with us and know you're making a significant contribution to RCR! Find more information here.

It's garage sale time!

Regina Cat Rescue’s 2016 fundraising garage sale starts today! Swing by 3338 Westminster Road in Regina today (June 2) from 1 to 8 p.m., June 3 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and June 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to check out items for sale, get a hot dog and learn more about RCR! All funds raised will be used on veterinary care like spay and neuter surgeries for cats and kittens in RCR’s care.

Who is RCR? Q&A with an RCR volunteer

RCR's fundraising team does some of the organization's most important - but often overlooked - work. They're constantly planning, developing and executing fundraising initiatives to help RCR pay its veterinary bills. Without their vital work RCR wouldn't be able to help cats in need. In this edition of Meet our Volunteers, we catch up Krista Hopko who has been volunteering with the fundraising committee for the last six years.

Meet George!

This month’s feature cat is George. He's curious, affectionate and plays well with other cats. If you're looking for a friendly and laid back cat, George could be the one for you! Check out George's adoption profile here.

June's Metro Cat

Thanks to Metro Pet Market for Spaying It Forward! This month, Metro paid for Jersey’s spay surgery as part of their on-going mission to foster responsible pet guardianship. Jersey’s a sweet and spunky kitten who was orphaned along with her littermates at a young age. Now Jersey is spayed and ready for adoption! Check out her adoption profile here and for more info about Metro Pet Market, please visit www.metropetmarket.ca.

Forever homes found. A total of 20 cats and kittens found their forever homes in May.

Foster homes needed. RCR desperately needs foster homes willing to take adult cats both for short-term placements (1-2 weeks) to help cover foster homes' summer holidays and normal placements (lengths vary from a couple of weeks to a few months). If you can open your home and heart to a cat in need, complete the volunteer application form here.

Pet Valu adoption event. RCR will be at the Pet Valu Rochdale location with adoptable kitties from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 11. Come meet the newest feline member of your family!

Love brunch? RCR will be hosting a 'BrunchRaiser' at The Capitol Restaurant & Cocktail Bar on July 10. So save the date and stayed tuned to our upcoming events listings for more info as it becomes available.

Election results. The provincial election may be long over but the results for RCR are just now rolling in. Four RCR volunteers worked the election and donated their pay to RCR for a donation of over $1,000. A huge thanks to those volunteers who put in a very long day in support of RCR and democracy!

BINGO! RCR always needs help working fundraising bingos. Upcoming shifts include June 14, 24 & 29. More info here!

Photo of the Month! These community cats were happy to see one of RCR's volunteer feeders as she made the rounds with fresh water and food. All community cats in RCR care are trapped, neutered/spayed and returned to their colonies where they're provided with shelter, sustenance and vet care.
