Pt Macquarie Ironman Keith Ives competed in the Pt Macquarie ironman, finishing 9th out of 18 in his age category, in 15 hrs 22. 06. And pleased to say that while the bike leg was wet and slippery, Keith was able to stay upright and avoid the rose garden – the rose garden that he fell into last year.

I had a pretty good run - went out a bit hard (as usual!) and suffered in the 2nd 25, was pretty good in the 3rd quarter, and struggled home. The last section of the course is such a brutal grind! But overall pretty happy, 30mins faster than last year in a slightly harder course, and a second belt buckle. More importantly, we were back at Scenic World a few hours later for Audrey’s first race! 1km in about 10:15, which was sadly much faster than very many of my kms the evening before… her first medal, and she got her picture on the UTA Facebook page!
