50 Pianos on 28 Liberty Plaza: Come Play with Us

Join us this Monday, June 6, when we launch all 50 of The 2016 Sing for Hope Pianos—each a unique work of art—on 28 Liberty Plaza, courtesy of Fosun International, for all to play and enjoy for one glorious day before they move out to the streets of all five boroughs from June 9–19.

As part of the celebration, international singing star and Tony Award® winning actress Lea Salonga will be presented with the Sing for Hope “Art for All” Award for her dedication to inspiring young people with the gift of music throughout her career. Other stars sharing their performances at 12 noon and 5 pm will include two-time Tony Award® and Drama Desk nominee Daphne Rubin-Vega, iconic Late Night with David Letterman bandleader Paul Shaffer, the dynamic piano duo Anderson & Roe, cast members from On Site Opera's acclaimed Figaro Trilogy, saxophonist/composer Ted Nash/Presidential Suite, singer-songwriter Pete Muller, rising stars Jessica Fishenfeld and Stephanie Lauricella from Opera Diva Dress Collection, Manhattan Girls’ Chorus, Blake Whyte, Tony DeSare, Sylvana Joyce and Sean-David Cunningham of Sylvana Joyce & The Moment, Fabio Tedde and young musicians from Sing for Hope's youth programs.

The 5pm concert will be kicked off by a special event open to pianists of all ages and levels: a performance of Bach’s Prelude in C performed by 50 Volunteer Artists on all 50 Sing for Hope Pianos. Pianists interested in joining in this moment of mass harmony should email pianos@singforhope.org today. The only requirement is a familiarity with the piece, and a belief in #artforall.

Be the Key Change:
Pianos for the Kids of NYC

Lea Salonga, featured performer at the June 6 event at 28 Liberty St.
Thanks to a new partnership with the NYC Department of Education, we will move all 50 Sing for Hope 2016 Pianos to permanent homes in NYC public schools this fall. Music can change a child's life forever, but we need your help.

We have raised $7,013 towards our $25,000 goal. Please donate today at www.singforhope.org/keychange. Every dollar helps bring the joy of music to over 15,000 kids each year.

CELEBRATING "ART FOR ALL"

SFH Co-Founders Camille Zamora & Monica Yunus presented the legendary Paul Shaffer with a 2016 Sing for Hope "Art for All" award at the SFH Pianos studio last week while Volunteer Artist Izabel Lam's SFH Piano, a.k.a. Gregory The Gray Whale, expressed congrats!

The return of the Sing for Hope Pianos would not be possible without the generous ongoing support of The Sing for Hope Founders' Circle, a consortium of visionary philanthropists who have pledged sustaining gifts that make art available to all. Learn more about these very special New Yorkers and their belief in uplifting lives through the arts:
