Worship Night

Thinking out of the box is always a challenge. Trying something new and different is scary. But when God is leading, we choose to follow. Teams have been coming and assisting us with various projects, bible clubs, sports events and worship nights. From face painting to tacos, to teaching worship songs to anyone who wants to come and listen to messages of Jesus and His amazing love, this is what we have been up to.
Kids can be unpredictable. They may be attentive, listening and involved - or...
When you ask them to act out a story-like Peter stepping out of the boat to walk on water to Jesus-they, well some are eager to participate. Others are OK just to watch or possibly shout from the audience. The kids pictured here, at our last worship night sat and listened. The front row sang songs out loud, for the first time since we started this back in October 2015. What you don't see in this picture were the adults strategically placed on the outskirts of the basketball court. Close enough to hear but not wanting to be in the front. Being outside, not in an enclosed area and giving people freedom to move in close or not; seems to be a nice option right now. No pressure, of course when the tacos came out everyone was in line and several more showed up! As these events grow and change we are holding on for the ride because we never know where God will lead.

Praises/Prayer Requests-
* This past month we were blessed with the gift of time away at a retreat center here in Arizona. We have been struggling through a difficult season and in need of rest. We were able to spend 4 days with no TV, no outside distractions; time for each other and time in prayer and worship to our King. Robert was then able to go to CA for a few days and spend quality time with some good friends.
* Bible study is growing and friends are being invited
* We both are struggling with some medical issues and would truly appreciate your prayers as we await insurance approvals and test results.
* our support has been a challenge the past couple of months and fluctuating a lot. Please pray for peace in these trying times and that God would continue to provide for us as more challenges present themselves.

At our last Parenting class before summer break I met Kaitlin. She was a bright, sweet girl who was in class with her mom and decided to attach to me. She started by coloring pictures for Kara and I stating that she loves us. She asked me to take this picture so I wouldn't forget her...how could I? She was excited to help pass out papers and do what ever she could to be with us and just hang out. The innocence of a child. It made me think about myself, as a new Christian I was so excited to do anything I could to just hang out with God. I joined life groups, bible studies, I put away food in the church's food pantry, helped to start a Community Supper, made lifelong friends and relationships; and now remembering that time when I blindly jumped in and did whatever Christ led me to...like moving to AZ. The adventure continues...
