Here's a couple of simple but 'trust me' not well understood points about LEARNING, LEADERSHIP & RELATIONSHIPS:

  • If you are (which we should discuss :) an effective, solid, seasoned manager/leader - likely you still struggle at least a little bit with your most significant leadership issue: ‘your horizontal & vertical relationships’.  *For Execs/Senior Leaders, this is the #1 issue affecting not just YOU and your success, but all those down below that you lead (left dealing with the impact of your ineffective relations)!
  • The #2 barrier to real behavioral change & growth in LEADERS is this: ‘90% of all you ever read, hear or otherwise sense about Leadership is about the ‘what’.  Learning & change happens so rarely in leaders because there is no focus on the ‘how’.  We all have heard all the great perspectives of ‘what’ a leader or leadership is…………. ‘How’ do we create & develop the ‘what’ – what a leader is supposed to be?


These two dynamics are your keys to growing you & your success as a senior leader.  They are also the keys for those leaders you are supposed to be growing... 

My new book, out very soon, focuses heavily on the first issue above and the 'waste' involved;  while my other four books focus on the second.

      I periodically hear the Q, "Who & What is Booker Training", or more specifically, "What do you do?"   A few people recently wanted to know more so just figured this might be a good time to update you and the world just a bit:

                             I help leaders grow self and other leaders thru changed behavior in self and holding others (subordinate) accountable to changing behavior...

Real Leadership and powerful relationships assessed and focused upon thru an understanding of your Leadership-RELATIONSHIP-Sphere (one's vertical and horizontal relationships)

*25 yrs of Leadership Development (individual/organizationally)

*15 yrs of work with leaders in Organizational Behavior and Communications

*18 yrs in Change Management and Culture improvement

I believe my fastball is working with a leader 1:1 ...and thru transparent and real conversation, determining accountabilities needed to move the leader forward in present role and future roles.  I would add onto that as my second best pitch - working with Leadership Teams/Staffs not only in their collective/individual leadership development but their relationships internally and externally.

I have written four books not on theory but on real practical application of how a leader grows and continues to grow, all written in conversational tone for the leader.  I am pretty darned certain I have no masterpiece, but I am certain they all contain good messages / good learning. 

I love people. I love helping people. I am passionate about helping leaders grow.
