2016 Bike Week wrap up
The Sport and Recreation Team would like to thank all Superheroes, Ride 2 Work commuters, and Ride and Seek selfie submitters who got involved and made 2016 Bike Week so successful.
The community showed their love of riding bikes and the strong cycling culture that exists in Mackay by the attendances of children, adults and families and riders of all abilities embracing the opportunity to utilise pedal power for Bicycle Queensland’s Bike Week celebrations.
We have received plenty of positive feedback & ideas for next year’s Bike Week but don’t wait till next year to get peddling. For further information on where to walk, run, ride visit council's website
or email sport@mackay.qld.gov.au

The fashions of the fair
Sunday, May 29, 2016 from 9am to 3pm
Greenmount Homestead Heritage Fair
It’s an Olympic year and we continue to celebrate Greenmount Homestead and commemorate WWI. The fashions of the fair theme is sporting costumes through the decades.
All visitors are encouraged to join in the spirit of the day by coming dressed in heritage costume to illustrate a colourful and spectacular display of yesteryear. Remembering that you are not limited to sporting attire as every sporting event has spectators and supporters. There will also be an opportunity to nominate for fashions of the fair fashion parade with great prizes to be won.
