At the halfway mark in the season we sit well placed in all grades to contest finals football. 1st, 2nd and 4th Grades are all placed in the top 4 with 3rds and Colts just outside and closing in.
This weekend we are at home to play Blue Mountains. Round 8 - Saturday 28th May - Forest vs Blue Mountains at Melwood Oval Forestville.
Forest Rugby Club is proud to announce its 2016 charity partner – headspace – the national youth mental health foundation. The partnership will be celebrated on 2 July 2016 at its home game at Melwood Oval against traditional rivals Newport, on the nominated Charity Day round which also coincides with the Club’s Sponsor’s Day, where it recognises the contributions from its major sponsors.
We welcome and acknowledge the support of local business partner, Allan Hall Chartered Accountants, who have joined forces with the Club for the first time as a formal Charity Day Sponsor.
A big thank you to Shields Gillman Real Estate, Forest Rugby's major sponsor. SGRE have graciously donated the temporary use of its coveted and traditional space on the front of the Forest first grade jersey to allow the Club to attract a Charity Day sponsor for the one-off jerseys to be worn by the team on the day.
With many players unavailable a reshuffled 1st Grade returned to the winners circle after being down 3-17 in the 1st half to come storming home scoring 4 tries to claim the win.
An depleated 2nd Grade struggled to get going and suffered an uncharacteristic loss. Some stern words from the coaches after the game will hopefully rally the team for a better effort this week and hopefully a strong show at training.
3rds and 4ths both split the points with Uni and our Colts broke through for a bonus point win and now sit just 1 point outside the top 4 in 5th place.
Several players returning for this week across the grades should see our teams considerably stronger to play Blue Mountains.
