NATHAN JUREVICIUS "SOUND AND VISION"

Nathan Jurevicius is the world-renowned artist, illustrator and toy designer who is best known for his Scarygirl series, which lives across various mediums including a Scarygirl online comic, books, artwork and a range of vinyl toys.

For this exhibition, the Australian born, Canadian based artist has produced a series of artworks based on an eclectic selection of cult musical performers from the 1950s to current day. Commenting on the show the artist says: "No matter who we are or where we come from music and visual arts connect us all. Everyone can remember that first precious album they bought on vinyl/tape or that first gig that blew their mind. Memories are often associated with sounds and in this exhibition I've sketched some of the musicians that have influenced my life over the past few decades."

Entry is free. * THE ARTIST WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE AT THE OPENING.

LORETTA LIZZIO: DEARLY BELOVED

FEATURE SHOW
OUTRÉ GALLERY MELBOURNE
JUNE 3rd - 19th

Melbourne based artist Loretta Lizzio channels the uninhabited wilderness in her works. Animals, from the mildest to the most barbaric are the vessel Loretta uses to burrow into and reveal her own deeply layered self. Through her obsessive line work, Loretta captures a sensuous desire for freedom, adventure and love using pen, pencil and oils. For her 2016 show, she has restored salvaged wood and paper as the bases to create her escapes.

The artist has spent years sharpening this sensitivity with her subjects while working across publishing, photography, and advertising industries. The artworks she creates show her subjects as creatures of substance, radiating in the life that Loretta supercharges into her artworks.

Forgotten fairy tales, spectacles of cinema, fleeting glances and dog eared National Geographic’s are Loretta’s inspiration to make art and tell her stories.

To RSVP and/or sign up for a preview of Loretta Lizzio's Exhibition, Dearly Beloved, please fill out our Mailing List form here!

PETE CROMER "ORNIS" OPENING PHOTOS

Outré Melbourne hosted a wonderful opening night for Surf Coast artist Pete Cromer's "Ornis" exhibition last week. Fans flocked to see the artist's bold and colourful collage artworks and marvel at his menagerie of resin Budgie sculptures. Attendees had a great evening mingling amongst the works and enjoying a drink courtesy of Feral Brewing. There are a still a small number of originals available that can be viewed HERE.

Are you a fan of the ultimate Trash Rock n Roll band and all around culture mavens The Cramps? If so, click on the image above to take a look at this short video on Poison Ivy and the late Lux Interior to have a tour of their house and collection (and Tiki bar!). One of a kind greatness!
