UK PET Chemistry meeting success
SINAPSE proudly hosted the 2016 UK PET Chemistry meeting in Edinburgh on 4 May. The meeting was a great success, with sessions covering the topics of Fluorine-18, Carbon-11, Other Positron Emitters (with Gallium-68 featuring prominently) and New Technology. Excellent keynote talks were delivered by Prof David Newby, on imaging research into cardiovascular disease, and Prof Paul Matthews, on PET-MRI imaging in dementia. SINAPSE members Dr Christophe Lucatelli, Dr Sally Pimlott and Anne Grant deserve special thanks for their hard work in organising a wonderful event.

SINAPSE Member Profile: Dr Adam Waldman
Adam Waldman has recently joined The University of Edinburgh as Chair of Neuroradiology. Adam undertook a PhD and post-doctoral research in biophysics before training in medicine at Cambridge, then in Radiology and Neuroradiology in London. Prior to coming to Edinburgh he was Consultant Neuroradiologist and academic lead for Radiology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, and held honorary academic appointments at Imperial College London. His main research interests have been in quantitative, physiological and molecular neuroimaging, particularly as applied to neurooncology, neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory diseases. He is very much looking forward to developing these collaborative multidisciplinary research themes further in Edinburgh, within SINAPSE, and across wider networks.
