A REMINDER...PLEASE VOTE!

Tomorrow - Tuesday - is an important day! It's VOTING DAY.
There are many important issues - and candidates - at stake in this election, so we at Heal the Ocean urge you to exercise your right to vote! There are many countries whose citizens don't have a say in life. Please cherish your right to speak up, by voting! Thank you!

Wednesday, June 8th is World Ocean's Day!

Right after Tuesday's Election, please join Heal the Ocean in celebrating  World Ocean's Day by doing some little thing to help the ocean. Send us a letter as to what the ocean means to you, and we'll publish it! At Heal the Ocean, we are hard at work every day to progress in our mission to rid the ocean of pollution sources. We are hiring expert consultants to access Prop 1 "State Water Bond" funds to pay for the upgrade of wastewater plants to recycled water plants, to help homeowners pay for abandoning septic systems in areas where they are harmful to the environment - and much more!
To pay for consultants we are steadily fundraising...
Please help us..... by donating here!
THANK YOU!

A big THANK YOU to the Interact Club of Cambria!

At the end of May, Heal the Ocean received a surprise donation - a significant amount (!) out of the blue - from a group of high school students in Cambria, California, a beautiful seaside town north of San Luis Obispo.

There was no note with this check, not even a name on the envelope. So we Googled around until we found the students - the Coast Union High School Interact Club.
Speaking with the club's Co-President Alan Mendez, we learned the story of this amazing, enterprising group of young people. Of the entire student body of 250, at least half (125) belong to the Club, Mendez said. Meeting monthly, club members nominate causes they want to fund, and decide on 9 or 10 to donate to. The average yearly funds given by the Club are $13,000. For ten years they have helped the Rotary Club with the homeless issue in San Luis Obispo, raising $24,000 overall. They have paid for a vehicle needed in an African Village.
How refreshing, how wonderful - to see a group of young people so motivated to do good in the world! We thank you, Interact Club!

Marilyn Monroe & Liza Minnelli join Frank
Sinatra for HTO's Annual Celebration

(Spoiler Alert!: Marilyn & Liza are performed by the same actress)

It's official: the lineup for HTO's Annual Celebration has been set: Marilyn Monroe & Liza Minnelli, impersonated by the same actress - will join Frank Sinatra (Monty Aidem) on October 22, 2016 at HTO's Annual celebration at the El Paseo Restaurant. With Julia Louis-Dreyfus as the honorary chair of this event, HTO continues its tradition of being "the funnest party of the year."

Corporate sponsorships are being offered: which will not only guarantee tables, but also listing on all printed materials for the event, announcement from the stage, AND permanent placement on HTO's home page on our website for one full year, beginning the moment your sponsorship is received. This is an opportunity for you to show how your business supports the work that Heal the Ocean is doing. Watch your inboxes for sponsorship opportunities, or call the office (805) 965-7570 for more information. Thank you!
