Andrew & Co Solicitors Moves Onwards and Upwards
To accommodate a growing team, East Midlands law firm Andrew & Co Solicitors is relocating its Newark office to larger premises at 65 London Road in the town next month.
The new location will allow the firm, which also has an office in Lincoln, to double the size of a number of teams based in Newark and allow for future growth.
Clients will also benefit from the move, as new meeting rooms are being created to allow for private meetings and both clients and employees will have access to onsite parking.
The firm is currently unable to host events at its Newark office owing to a lack of space, but it is already planning to use the new facilities for regular events.
Andrew & Co’s Newark team will be hosting a number of events following the move which will allow guests to view the office and meet the newly recruited team members.
Michael Pace, Partner and Motor Law specialist for Andrew & Co based in the Newark office, said: “The move will allow us to further expand our service offering for our clients in Newark and North Nottinghamshire and also give us the ability to strengthen our depth of knowledge and specialisms to further build the reputation of Andrew & Co Solicitors in the town.
“The new team members will be a great asset during our brand transformation, which will include a re-brand and website re-launch scheduled for July.
"It is exciting to be building on the firm’s strong local reputation and having a full time presence based in our Newark office for the vast majority of services means we can provide a smooth and seamless service to our clients."
IN OR OUT
Following last month's presentation by Kate Godfrey on behalf of Britain Stronger in Europe, it was the turn of Niger Baxter from Vote Leave to put forward his case.
Nigel, the boss of a truck hire company in Nottingham is spearheading the "Business for Britain" campaign in the region.
His company RH Commercial Vehicles also has sites in Cossington in Leicestershire and Alfreton in Derbyshire.
Nigel claims many small and medium-sized businesses in the East Midlands are fed up with bureaucrats in Brussels imposing oppressive regulations and costs on them, and want to see a fundamental change in the UK's relationship with Europe.
It is clear that the In or Out debate is very complex and Nigel is at odds with brother Ian, (also a haulier) who is firmly in.
Nigel maintained that membership of the EU costs Britain £350m per week. However business club member Graham Keal challenged him on this figure, and it was acknowledged that this did not take account of the rebate we get, nor the money that flows back to the UK to part finance projects like Nottingham's tram system.
The club has now heard both sides of the debate and we will have to wait until June 24th to see how the British public vote and we suspect a good while longer to judge the impact on business.
TV Role for Lisa Raises Profile of B&B
Long standing member of Newark Business Club and past chairman of Newark Accommodation Providers (NAP) is star of a new TV show, "To B&B The Best”, a Channel 5 production.
To B&B The Best aims to give both the homeowners filmed and the programme’s viewers some helpful tips and guidance on setting up a B&B in their homes, but it doesn't cover all of the rules and regulations involved, which can vary depending on where you live in the country and your personal circumstances.
Lisa owns Compton House B&B Newark, off London Road.
