A Brief Journal Entry from Sarah Haque:
"It is my third day in Teabo now, and life is much harder than I imagined it would be. I am already feeling the toll of the relentless heat on my body, especially since there is no air conditioning in our home and most other places. It is a very laborious life, much different from anything I have ever experienced before. I’ve learned that there is so much that we take for granted back home, such as the glorious air conditioning system or having wifi almost everywhere you go. All those things are a luxury here in Teabo.
Despite these hardships, Teabo is a very endearing place. The people are so incredibly nice and are always smiling. I have never seen anything like this before, people facing poverty and hardship with so much joy to share. The children are so innocent and loving, I hope their future treats them well and that they may be able to break this cycle of generational poverty. In the short amount of time that I have been here, I have already fallen in love with the people of Teabo."
