This is our last pre-ISC 2016 newsletter. In less than 11 days we will be seeing many of you in person – exciting days are ahead of us!
Looking at the current registration numbers, the event promises to be a well-attended international forum with over 3,000 participants from 46 countries. It also looks like most attendees will be coming from Germany, the US, UK, China, Japan and France, which reflects these countries' HPC capabilities.
Current registration also shows that five percent more attendees have purchased the full conference pass, which gives them full access to the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday sessions. Here are a couple of sessions that we think you shouldn’t miss out on, namely the Opening Session, which starts on Monday, June 20, at 8.30 am and the Conference Keynote.
We wish everyone safe travels to Frankfurt and look forward to seeing you very soon!
Best regards,
The ISC Team
Thank You For Making ISC 2016 Possible!
So many people have helped us make ISC 2016 happen.
We are especially grateful for the hard work of our program chair, Prof. Dr. Satoshi Matsuoka, the program advisors, committee chairs and members, speakers, exhibition sponsors, the ISCnet team, media partners, our service providers, and our student volunteers.
We sincerely thank everyone for their continuous support of the ISC High Performance series.
ISC 2016 Agenda App
In cooperation with the Poznan Supercomputing & Networking Center (PSNC), we again offer the mobile conference and exhibition app for free. It provides up-to-date information about the conference. It is free and available at the following stores: Google Play, iTunes and Windows.
If you have PSNC's "Conference4me" app installed on your device from last year, you can also access the entire ISC 2016 conference and exhibition via this mobile conference assistant.
The SCC Race Begins
Twelve teams are ready to compete in the fifth ISC-HPAC Student Cluster Competition (SCC). Starting Monday, June 20, secret applications will be distributed each day to challenge the teams to analyze and solve the selected workload. The teams will be constrained to use no more than 3 kW on their cluster configuration.
The competition will end Wednesday evening with a ceremony on the conference keynote stage in front of a large audience. In the end, there will be five awards given:
Highest LINPACK, for the highest score received for the LINPACK benchmark under the 3 kW power budget.
Fan Favorite, to be given to the team which receives the most votes from ISC participants during the Student Cluster Competition.
1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Overall Winners reflect the 3 teams that received the highest aggregated scores for all the chosen HPC applications and benchmarks, in addition to the scores from the panel of HPC experts during the team interview sessions.
The papers can be downloaded from Springer’s website for a limited time after ISC 2016. The proceedings are indexed in the ISI Web of Science, EI Engineering Index, ACM Digital Library, dblp, Google Scholar, IO-Port, MathSciNet, Scopus, and Zentralblatt MATH.
Workshop Proceedings
The joint Springer proceedings of ISC 2016 workshops are published as post-conference proceedings. To foster the discussion during the Thursday, June 23 workshops, a draft version of the papers will be published at http://goo.gl/8F5Gkt shortly before the workshop day. Once the final version of the proceedings is available, workshop participants can access them free of charge for a limited period of time.
