June 2016
Volume 2, Issue 10
We have much to celebrate this time of year, from the many student, faculty and alumni honors we recognized in May, to the thousands of Blue Hens who flocked home for Alumni Weekend reunions, awards and activities, including our semiannual College Advisory Council meeting. The Council helped us with important planning on the college's diversity initiatives, and we recognized Grace T. Leong '88, for her dedicated service as chair, as well as outgoing member Charlotte W. Brown '81. We welcomed Joe Krauss '78 as the new chair, along with new members Beth Monaghan Cohen '89 and Harlan L. Landes '98. And our Power of PBL session was a great success, with alumni, friends and future Blue Hens working side-by-side in UD's Harker ISE Lab. Now, we may not have brought home the President's Cup in this year's Blue Hen 5K, but our team represented with a win for "Most Spirited" and CAS alumni swept the 2016 Alumni Wall of Fame awards. These are just some of the many reasons I remain impressed with you, our active and engaged community of alumni, friends, students, faculty and staff. I hope you'll enjoy reading about even more of our accomplishments and successes below.
