Annual Symposium

The second annual symposium at the Institute of Advanced Study was held at Scarman House on the 18th and 19th May 2016. The event was a huge success attracting over 100 attendees.
The symposium concentrated on the Early Career Researcher (ECR), in collaboration with Research & Impact Services and the Faculty of Science. Over two days we convened a series of seminars that looked at the different aspects of interdisciplinary postdoctoral research careers.

"Besides providing a lot of helpful information about funding possibilities and things to consider before an application, it gave me a lot of hope and enthusiasm"

"..gave me very necessary advice I don't know where I would have got from anywhere else."

"It was invaluable to meet and talk with colleagues from outside my department about my research."

Full details of the symposium programme and speaker presentations are available at www.warwick.ac.uk/globalfutures
Selected postdoctoral attendees of the IAS Symposium had the opportunity to enter the 'Picture My Research' flash talk competition.
The deadline for the Call for Papers for the October 2016 issue of Exchanges: the Warwick Research Journal has been extended to 30 June 2016.
On Tuesday 10th May 2016, Karen Kelsky visited Warwick to speak to Early Career Researchers regarding academia in the USA.
