What’s new
We've had a busy few months. Our new practical horticulture training programme for unemployed 16 - 25 year olds is underway, our outreach group continue to provide much needed respite and our 'blessed are the merciful' retreat is well received - one regular visitor tells us what coming on retreat means for her. It is always a delight to walk through the grounds of Minsteracres during this time of the year when the natural world shows its abundance of new life. The trees in the fields and woodlands, the flowers and the chorus of birds; they reveal the beauty of creation. Fr Jeroen reflects.

Fr Mark's BIG birthday
Fr Mark Whelehan, stalwart of Minsteracres for more than 50 years, has just celebrated his official 90th birthday (like the queen, there have already been several unofficial celebrations this year).
Sunday 8th May began with a mass celebrated by Bishop Seamus Cunningham to a church packed with family and friends.

For those of us who shudder at the memory of long-ago school retreats, the answer from one of Minsteracres’ regular retreatants might be surprising. Jane Dixon talks about what the experience means for her and what she takes home with her after each stay.
