The Institute for Parents of Preschool Children Who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing will take place June 12-17, 2016 on the campus of the Illinois School for the Deaf in Jacksonville, IL. This free week-long event is offered to Illinois parents of children (through age 5) who have a significant hearing loss. Meals and lodging are provided at no charge to families. Siblings through age 7 can also come to the institute and participate in activities appropriate for their age group at the nursery school on campus. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with other parents and obtain valuable information on hearing loss, communication options, language development, and more. Illinois School for the Deaf Outreach's Camp ISD will be held June 22-24, 2016 in Jacksonville, IL. Camp ISD is a free, educational camp for parents and siblings (ages 5 years old and older) of Illinois children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Children who are deaf or hard of hearing entering 3rd through 12th grades in the fall are invited to participate in a summer camp while their parents attend Camp ISD.
