An Artist's Newsletter - 8th Edition, June 2016

Hello friends and welcome to new subscribers, 

Last month was a busy one as I made new friends and discussed art with anyone willing to stop and say hello - both in Brighton during the Artists Open Houses and at Amberley Museum as part of their Traditional Crafts event. 

June is looking a bit quieter, but you can still catch my work on display at the Woolpack Pub in Burgess Hill where it is part of the Burgess Hill Artists Summer Exhibition. For the Burgess Hill Summer Festival I will also be teaching a 'plein air' or outdoor drawing workshop in the pub gardens. This will be a free event. More information on both events can be found on pages 4 and 11 of the Festival Guide, with booking information on page 3. There will be a "Meet the Artists" event on Saturday, 11 June from 3-4.30 at the Woolpack. It's not in the Festival Guide so please mark your diaries now! 

I will also be spending a day next week supporting local Carers by taking my Creative Carers activity box to a Carer Pamper Day in Haywards Heath. This is one of many local events happening across the UK which will be offering support and bringing attention to Carers during National Carers Week. For those of you who know me well it will be no surprise that this is a cause close to my heart, especially as my own Caring duties have a significant impact on my creative projects.

Publicity for the Big Heart Charity Auction is also continuing as the eBay Auction kick-off comes ever closer. As a reminder, the auction will be taking place online via eBay with bids opening 1 July at 9 pm BST and closing 10 July - as it is eBay, bids really can come from anywhere so do take a look! The major exhibition for this auction, including ALL donated works, will open in the Brighton Dome in early July. Also launching in June (did I really say it was looking quieter?!) are beginner workshops for anyone wanting to have a go at reverse oil painting on glass themselves! Already the first date in June is booked up, but I will be offering a second chance for interested students on Friday, 1 July, from 9.30-12.30. After that I will be scheduling workshops regularly based on demand so whether you want to come on the 1st or just want to discuss your schedule for a future workshop date, please get in touch.
