May blossoms into June

We're nearly halfway through 2016 and glad to have you by our side -
read on for details of new projects, recent activities, and what's coming ahead this month.

Worth (way more than) its
Weight in Gold:
We are pleased to share that YOU have won a Gold MUSE Award for Digital Communities. This award recognizes your generosity of time and spirit to enrich Smithsonian Institution collections, as well as the support and dedication of Smithsonian staff in our collaborative transcription activity. Congratulations, all!

Staying Busy, Springing Into June!
Did you know that together you've transcribed and reviewed to tie a bow on 1,407 projects? Amazing! We hope that puts a bounce in your step - you've also pushed us to a cumulative total of 181,114 pages completed. Take a look at the numbers on the left about May's activity on the TC. As of today we have grown to 6,534 volunteers - and we welcome more, so please feel free to forward to a friend!
Your efforts in transcribing help Smithsonian collections become more discoverable and help researchers get to the bottom of their questions more quickly. You also help Smithsonian staff find the answers they're seeking - click the image to read more from Smithsonian Institution Archives conservator William Bennett.
