Computing & Technology

We were excited to hear this week that Apple will be releasing a revolutionary new coding app, full of fun challenges to teach children how to use Swift programming. It will be available free from the app store at the end of the year, so keep an eye out!

The world is getting more and more digital, so it's important that children can understand and use technology. From coding to gadgets, here are some fun ways to help your child learn about computing and technology...
There are lots of toys now available that can get children using technology or learning the basics of coding. These also often cover other useful skills, such as logical thinking and creative problem solving, which are ideal for STEM subjects.

There are some very good apps out there that teach children how to code through games and puzzles. This means they can experiment and see how their code plays out. For example, using directions to move a character, they will easily see if they have forgotten an important step when their character starts walking in the wrong direction!
