This update has been made all that more important by Medicare announcing their last minute changes, and asking application developers to deliver these changes to you within an difficult deadline. All this so you comply with these changes on the 1st of July. We stopped development on some key areas we were working on and turned our heads to coming through for our clients. We will make these important changes available to you in the 2016R2 release.

This update is packed with new features and cost saving modules together with considerable flexibility’s, speed improvements and ease of use. We have also added a number of client suggestions to improve your use of Medilink so keep those suggestions flowing in, together we can continue to mould Medilink to new heights.

Please ensure that you pay the current MDS invoice so we can schedule your update and ensure you are Medicare Compliant from July 1.

Medilink is making the required changes to comply with the new rules surrounding the Patient rebate cheques stopping by the 1st of July.
|
|
Scope of Change:
The claiming channels this change relates to are:
- Patient Claims Store and Forward (PCS) (Private Cash Consults)
- Patient Claims Interactive (PCI)
- In-Patient Medical Claims – Patient Claims (IMC-PC)

Medilink clients using this SMS service have reached record numbers. You simply access our Web-based Messaging payment gateway, pre-purchase your desired SMS credits and away you go. Your SMS’s never expire and you will be notified by email once your account has reached a balance of 20% remaining.
The Integrated SMS Service allows you, our clients, to automatically send to your selected patients in your Appointment Book a quick and easy automated SMS reminder for confirmations.
Medilink will provide you with a secure login portal where you can access and pre-purchase the required SMS’s for your practice. The costs start at 0.20₵ and reduces to 0.18₵ depending on quantity purchased. We have negotiated 100 free SMS’s for you to say "welcome on-board". Once we have updated you, you will receive the 100 FREE SMS Units.

Medilink Integration
Due to client feedback, we have worked to deliver a more streamlined and automated sending process within the program. Now, when you insert your referring providers, you will add the secured messaging tag to streamline the sending and receiving of your documents.

Delivery Auditing
Medical-Objects secure messaging fully supports the ability to audit each individual message that leaves the system, meaning receipt (acknowledgement) of messages is not subject to dispute. Both the sender and recipient have access to audit reports.
This is another major enhancement to the 2016 release. Medical Objects is one of 4 choices for secure messaging. Each comply to government standards.

Medilink also recently has fully integrated with HealthLink, for compliant secure messaging.

What is HealthLink?
HealthLink provides a wide range of eHealth services to more than 11,500 medical organisations or over 50,000 providers. This includes the vast majority of Australia’s general practices as well as a significant and growing proportion of specialists, hospitals, pathology companies and radiology service providers.
As a company, HealthLink decided not to charge any GP for sending or receiving services - this allowing HealthLink to maintain Australia’s largest directory of eHealth communicators.
HealthLink’s key purpose is to enable medical practices to communicate electronically with the rest of the health system. By exchanging clinical information healthcare information providers become more efficient and they are able to improve the quality of care they can provide to their patients.

HealthLink offers a comprehensive range of solutions that includes web based portal solutions to providers who have chosen less common practice software and they provide a very comprehensive and well-resourced support service at no charge, unlike some of their competitors.

Medilink + Surgical Partners Collaboration
Medilink has collaborated with Surgical Partners to integrate your Medilink financial data with your Xero or MYOB, and other accounting packages.
|
|
Key benefits for our client practices include:
- Reduced double entry of revenue data, saving you time and money in internal administration, external bookkeeping accounting services.
- Daily, digital reconciliation of your bank accounts with what Medilink has recorded as receipted revenue, using your bank statement feeds into Xero and or MYOB.

|
|
The END OF THE FINANCIAL YEAR … is typically when you have your accountant review & prepare your business for Tax purposes. The 1st of July is often considered a good time to change or improve your business systems thus my story here. It could well be time to re-look at how you are recording your financial data for your accountant.

Many of our Medilink integrated modules have been first to market so our clients start getting these financial rewards first. We are market leaders in this space and have a proven track record that well supports these facts. Two years ago my accountants suggested I move our business to XERO from MYOB. Whilst I was initially skeptical about having all our business financials “in the cloud” it has proven hugely beneficial for our business. It gives myself and our accountant real time up-to-date financial tracking and whilst generally this is a monthly review in line with the business budgeting and forecasting, the fact is information and reports are live.

Whilst this does not sound much better than having your employed person inputting data on a regular basis, the outstanding feature is that your Medilink Banking is fed daily, automatically, into Xero. Additional smarts within Xero can significantly reduce data input as it learns what belongs where and therefore considerably reduces the manual input from your Banking. On your debtor’s side “DEPOSITS” are mainly processed via Medilink. This is what our BIG NEWS was for our clients recently when we integrated our software with XERO.
