Here at Swingdance UK our mission is to get you dancing and we have got three crackers that we can pull (excuse the Christmas pun, the weather's confusing me).
Sunday 19 June - Speakeasy Blues at the Looking Glass Cocktail Club: This month we have special guest Niall teaching Slow Lindy 7.15pm followed by a dance set of classic vintage and contemporary Swing & Blues from 8.15pm. Dance tickets available on the door. We do recommend the cocktails that you can get from the bar :)
Monday 20 June - Swing Out @ the London Wonderground:One of our flagship events in the stylish setting of the Spiegeltent that sits plum in the middle of the Royal Festival Hall and the London Eye. Live music from the Ding Dong Daddios, one of our favourite Jump, Jive & Swing bands, five sharply dressed guys who know how to play for dancers. Get there early and catch a beginners or intermediate Lindy Hop class from 7.45pm or just enjoy a drink at the bar.
Friday 24th June -Genesis Cinema - 40s Swing Party:A slight change from the normal timings as tonight is part of the East End Film Festival, which means not only is all the dancing FREE but so is the class! Dancing from 7.30pm, Shag taster class 9pm with Simon & Anna fresh off the plane from America having attended a teachers Shag weekend with Lance Benishek, a world authority on 30s style Collegiate Shag, followed by more social dancing until 11.30pm.
Ps, if you like Collegiate style Shag, Simon & Anna will be teaching a Shag routine for 5 weeks from Tuesday 28th June at Swingdance Holborn.
