The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to Provide Traffic Alerts
A pilot project to provide traffic information to drivers between Delhi-Jaipur in India is to be rolled out nationally. The traffic alerts will be available to drivers with digital radios in their vehicles and broadcast by the All India Radio digital radio stations. Many car manufacturers are incorporating digital radios in their new cars and these drivers will be amongst the first to receive these alerts for a safer, faster and trouble-free journey. Read more
80 Years of All India Radio - From Analogue to Digital
Congratulaions to India’s public broadcaster, All India Radio (AIR) who on 8th June celebrated 80 years of broadcasting! Like any 80-year old AIR has witnessed many technological changes. Currently it is undertaking one of the world’s largest digital radio deployments having chosen DRM technology to achieve its ambitions. As it moves into the future, DRM technology will give AIR the ability to serve its listeners with access to a wider range of programmes for 80 years and more!
DRM at Broadcast Asia 2016
The quality of DRM was presented at Broadcast Asia where delegates learned about DRM’s efficient coverage and sound quality. Several members of the DRM Consortium were in attendance, including, Ampegon, Fraunhofer IIS, GatesAir, Nautel, Thomson Broadcast and Transradio. DRM on the Agenda in the US
DRM featured prominently at this year’s National Association of Shortwave Broadcasters (NASB) conference held recently in Nashville Tennessee, USA. The DRM all-digital migration progress by All India Radio, currently the largest digital migration globally, was amongst the topics discussed alongside test updates from Guam and DRM broadcasting insights from SonSet Solutions. Another Innovative Use of DRM30!
Hiroyuki Okamura from Japan was able to receive KTWR Guam's DRM transmission on 17780 on his SDR, 0800 UTC onwards - data only.

DRM Enterprise Award – Asia Pacific Region 2016
Nominations are now welcomed for the second DRM Enterprise Award for the Asia Pacific region. The Award aims to stimulate interest in the DRM standard in various parts of the world that can benefit from the full introduction of digital radio, like the various countries of the Asia Pacific region. The first DRM annual prize was aimed at the Pacific Islands and was awarded in 2014 to SIBC, the public broadcaster in the Solomon Pacific Islands.
