Summer Storms

The season of storms is upon us, and with this marvelous time we have to keep safety in mind. If you choose to venture out into the weather, remember that there are threats to both you and your camera. Lightning can strike well ahead of a storm, while blowing rain and sand can severely damage or destroy your lenses and camera. Additionally, wave action on a break wall may become tempting you to venture out for a better composition. You can be swept away by inches of water coming over the structure, and it is best to be avoided.

Tips and tricks

"Tripods, tripods, tripods....

When you are taking a photograph and wish to have the most detail of the subject, you will require a tripod. These wonderful tools allow your camera to stand there solid as a rock while you photograph. Tripods are particularly useful for nighttime, lowlight, telephoto, and macro photography. Handshake vibrations can and will affect your image up to 1/250th of a second. Another great advantage of tripod use is that your camera can hang out atop of it while you work out the particulars of manipulating your subject."
