BOYZ NOIZE
MAY DAY

Alexander Ridha has, to this point, remained admirably resistant to the surge of mainstream EDM and the influence of its broader appeal, at least in the sense that he had been crafting more-or-less the same brash, aggressive, uncomplicated dance music that he hit gold with all the way back in 2007 with Boys Noize’s debut Oi Oi Oi. Since we teased the first release of the album 'Starchild featuring Polica'  a few months back as single of the month this is easily one of the most anticipated album releases for 2016 and here it is! 13 tracks of pure Boyz Noize glory and as diverse as ever. 'Los Ninos' is our preferred workout for its raw tech energy but another 11+ tracks await your listening pleasure! HUGE. DRW 11/10.

DUSKY
FLOOR TO FLOOR
hen Dusky, made the leap to start their own label, 17 Steps, in 2014, we weren’t quite sure what to expect, but if the vision for their own imprint was anything like that of their music, it’d have a clear path to succeed. Since then, they’ve released a series of compelling EPs showcasing their own originals and created a platform to promote other artists who they feel align with their musical identity. With the release of their compilation album, Floor to Floor, they’ve turned their vision into reality with a momentous 12-track release. Floor to Floor cuts the nonsense, creating an expansive yet cohesive soundscape that blurs the lines of house, techno, and electronica. Tapping a top cut of U.K. artists including Skream, Alan Fitzpatrick, and Lo Shea, the duo has pulled out all the stops on this one. 9/10/.
THE TRIUMPHANT RETURN - KING BRITT
He feels we put too much importance on the past and not the present. Presently, he is exploring many afro-sonic musical possibilities with his Hyperdub released, Fhloston Paradigm project, The Phoenix. His aural experiments with friends appear on his imprint, The Buddy System Project and Drip subscription exclusives.  His recent curatorial pursuits have placed him in many academic environments (he is a Pew Fellowship winner), bridging the worlds of club, experimental and black music.  King Britt contriunes to write his own rule book, doing it his own way - creating a huge following! His show in 2015 at Potato Head's Sun Down Circle has been hailed as legend status & now the triumphant return of the King is real!
BALI URBAN ARTS EXPERIENCE
Finally Bali has its own urban arts experience! An exhibition, competition, awards and acknowledgement of Bali’s diverse and creative modern generation in the form of the first annual Bali Urban Arts experience. We felt as one of Bali’s most respected and experienced teams in organizing events and working within the urban arts industry it was time to give something back to the people of Bali, giving credit where credit is due in the form of a respected awards & showcase of international standard and Beachwalk Shopping Plaza couldn’t be a more perfect fit to do just that – showcase Bali’s amazing talent. With award categories for all the arts and a chance to bring together people from all walks of life who are committed to the same cause, Bali’s summer season just got a whole lot better - June 20 - 26.
WHERE THE SUN DONT SHINE – FEAR OF DAWN (KAISER WALDON)

Fear of Dawn is a serious medical condition called Eosphobia. It is also the name two musicians/DJs gave themselves after countless nights of partying and fearing the night was coming to an end. Mark Olsen and Kaiser Waldon don't just produce music and DJ, these guys live and breathe electronic music. They run some of Sydney's leading nightlife events including Saturdays at Hugos Lounge and Escape events - which has seen them play alongside international House legends such as Disclosure, Dusky, NiCe7, Nick Warren, Jody Weisternoff, Audiojack and Huxley. While this time around we get the single format courtesy of Kaiser Waldon you know whats expected when the first record drops! Quality this weekend at Koh once again.

DENIZ KOYU - MUSICALLY MINDED
Since he first laid hands on piano keys at the tender age of five, Deniz Koyu has been a man obsessed with making music. A producer’s producer – who counts Fedde Le Grand, Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell, Tiësto, Avicii, Alesso, Erick Morillo, David Guetta and Calvin Harris among his biggest fans – the man behind hits ‘Tung’, ‘Hertz’, ‘Bong’, ‘Follow You’, and more spent his formative year immersed in the world of DJ and production hardware. Hard-earned pocket money was readily swapped for all the second-hand synths and drum machines he could find; hours were spent dissecting the works of Depeche Mode, Daft Punk, Kraftwerk or Cassius; days were spent honing his DJ skills, editing his favourite tracks using nothing more than small tape recorders, sampling whatever he could lay his hands on. In 2011, when Koyu burst onto the global music consciousness with ‘Tung’ and ‘Hertz’, the obsession became a well-earned profession.

HIGH ALERT FOR CONTERFEIT MONEY AHEAD OF IDUL FITRI

Every year as we approach the Muslim holy month and the further we approach the final celebrations police contribute extra efforts thru various departments to stamp out that influx of conterfeit currency. PBali Police say they have already joined forces with Bank Indonesia to conduct the focused counterfeit money monitoring over the coming weeks.“In some areas approaching Eid, counterfeit money has been found. There’s lots of counterfeit money in circulation,” Bali Police spokesman Heri Wiyanto said on Monday, as quoted by Tribun Bali. Wiyanto has sent caution to owners of small warungs and shops, especially, to be wary of customers using fake money.
