Arapahoe County bans the practice of septage  application on ag land

Arapahoe County Commissioners recently adopted regulations that bans the practice of septage or sewage application on agricultural land in eastern unincorporated Arapahoe County.

This practice also is banned in Adams and Douglas counties.

Septage is untreated human and household waste flushed into a septic tank or portable toilet.

Regulations through the Environmental Protection Agency and Tri-County Health Department, which serves Adams, Arapahoe and Douglas counties, requires septage to be disposed of at sites approved by local county officials or the health department. Learn More
