Please join us at the Women Democrats June 14 meeting at Three Chopt Sandwiche Shoppe at 5:30pm.  Jennifer Henderson will speak at 6pm.  She has served as the Chief Executive Officer for Blue Ridge Community Health Services since 2007.  Under her leadership, Blue Ridge has expanded their health services from two sites in Henderson County serving the low-income and uninsured; to 13 sites serving over 30,000 patients in six counties throughout Western NC.  Over the past 25 years she has held executive leadership positions in private, hospital-owned, and publicly-held medical practice models, including MedPartners and the Cleveland Clinic. Prior to joining Blue Ridge, she served as the Vice President of Business Development of a two hospital health system in Cleveland, Ohio. In April of this year, she made the decision to focus her time exclusively on Strategy & Business Development for Blue Ridge.

JULY 2 BREAKFAST:  Eat between 9 and 11, and enjoy Charlie and Pam Rogers at 10:30 am speaking on “Compassion is a Verb” (compassion is a central moral value for the Democratic party and will be reflected in our parade presentation below as well).  Charlie and Pam are Democrats who have huge hearts for being the verb in action.

JULY 4 PARADE:  NEWS ALERT!  Just learned there will be NO July 4th PARADE this year!  Adjusting quickly to the news, we simply will keep on working so our spectacular unit will be more than ready for the APPLE FESTIVAL PARADE ON LABOR DAY!  It'll be great; so marchers, stay tuned!

JULY 4:  BRAT GRILLE COOKOUT ($6.00) from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.  Brats with sauteed onions, peppers, sauerkraut? will be furnished, and we invite you to bring homemade potato salad, cole slaw, and desserts.  Also, BYO beer and wine.  We’ll serve iced tea.  Chris Kruse will be our professional DJ as we set up the tents out front to welcome party members and the public.

AUGUST 13:  ANNUAL DEMOCRATIC PICNIC – PATTON PARK from 11 am - 3 pm – Save the date, and watch for SIGN UP SHEETS at HQ soon!

SEPTEMBER 5:  APPLE FESTIVAL PARADE ON LABOR DAY.  We have a plan, a truck, a sound system, signs to make, a HUGE diversity of people to gather to deliver a visual Democratic Freedom Message:  Diversity without Inclusion is Meaningless.  Our next meeting is Sunday June 12 at noon at HQ, so feel free to join us.  Call Nancy 606-5201 with your ideas if that is a time conflict.  SIGN UP SHEETS are at HQ with names of marchers and helpers.
