For the month of June, we will explore this word "light" and what it means for us as Christians. The idea of "light" is used multiple times throughout the Bible as a way to explore how we live and serve, and how Jesus brings hope to our world.

Happening this week: Vacation Bible School!
Holy Cross will be filled with hundreds of children and volunteers Monday-Thursday this week, ready to be a part of VBS. This is an integral week in the life of our church as we seek to share his good news with children and their friends in a fun, relatable way. We can't wait to see what God does!
Please pray:
- for our staff as the finalize details.
- for our volunteers to communicate the Gospel clearly and help the kids have fun.
- for our music leaders, as they point kids to Christ through music.
- for the children to hear the Gospel and respond.
- for safety and a smooth week.
- that this week of VBS will help provide a strong foundation for these children's faith lives.

Art Club: Special Edition
Join Miss Jen for an extra special Saturday morning Art Club on Saturday, June 18 from 9:00-10:30 am. Let your imagination soar as you create your own superhero and work on your own comic book that you will be able to take home!
There is no need to sign up, just show up and bring your creativity! We welcome ages Kindergarten and up, with a suggest $5 donation (per family) for this activity. Contact Jen Neitzert with any questions.

60th Wedding Anniversary Open House
Dick and Joleen Peterson will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 18 with an open house from 2:30-5:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome, but please--no gifts! There will also be donut holes on Sunday between services to celebrate. Congratulations!

Valley Fair Trip
It's that time of year! Plan to join us as we head up to Valley Fair for a day of fun on Monday, June 27. This is a trip for all ages, but kids 5th grade and younger must have an adult present with them. All other youth attending will be required to stay in groups while we are at the park.
We will leave from Holy Cross in the morning (8:00 am) and return late that evening (around 11:00 pm). Cost is only $80 and includes the admission ticket and transportation (charter bus). Sign up online or out in the lobby today!

This summer, Holy Cross will be providing a day camp for children who have completed grades Kindergarten—5th grade hosted by the counselors at NeSoDak Camp in Waubay, SD. Day camp will run July 6-8 from 9:30 AM-3:00 PM, and registration is NOW OPEN! We are looking for families to host the camp counselors July 5-7. Contact Erica to learn more about this awesome opportunity.

Looking for something to do this summer? If you are a youth who has completed grades 5-8, plan to join us up at NeSoDak for a week of fun on the lake, playing games, making new friends, and learning about God. Go to www.losd.org to register today!

Holy Cross Preschool is looking for fun-loving, caring, kind-hearted, energetic Assistant Teacher to join our infant/younger toddler room team! The job will begin with 25+ hours for the summer with full-time hours beginning in the fall.

New Member Orientation
Have you been considering becoming a member at Holy Cross? We will be offering our new member orientation on Saturday, July 9 at 10:00 am for families or individuals who are interested. Our prayer is for each child to be able to experience a Christian Camp, surrounded by the beauty of God's creation. Unfortunately, not all kids and their families are able to afford the cost of most camps. You can help make that a reality for them by adopting a camper.
You may "adopt" one or more children by choosing to pay for some or all of their registration costs. Contact the church office today if you'd like to help make summer unforgettable for a child!
