We are sorry that it has been some time since you have received any news from us about the Irving bid process. We have been informed by Fr Phil Ritchie and the PCC of St Mary and St John that a final decision on the sale is in a further process of review as they consider the future of the Irving Building site, and that they continue to consider Magdalen Road Church's proposal.
As a church, we have been committed to loving and serving the community of East Oxford for over 135 years. We want to use the Irving building to continue that relationship – whether it is in helping small children with their parents and carers through our Sunflower and Buttercup sessions, helping the strangers and refugees in our midst or simply providing a venue for other groups to meet.
We are continuing to work with all parties involved and with community groups to ensure that the final decision will achieve the best possible outcomes for all communities of East Oxford and especially for children, young families and the most vulnerable in our community.
