(St. Paul) - June 10, 2016 - Today, the Federal Mediator contacted the Minnesota Nurses Association and Allina Health to urge both parties to return to the bargaining table.  MNA and nurse members of the negotiating team have tentatively agreed on the condition Allina will allow working nurses on the negotiating team to be able to miss work to attend.  If so, both sides will meet on Monday, June 13.

The call back to the bargaining tables follows the strike notice by MNA given on June 8.  On Wednesday, when MNA submitted the 10 day notice of intent to strike for 7 days,  June 19-26 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Nurses are hopeful that Allina negotiators are sincere in returning to the table and will return with information nurses requested and responses to nurses' proposals.  Nurses have made proposals on staffing and workplace violence that, so far, have been unanswered by the hospital negotiators.

Nurses also hope Allina will not return to the table again with the only goal of drastically eliminating nurses' affordable health plans, which will cost them $10 million.
