PAPER PETUNIA E-NEWS

GRADIENT STAMPING

I love re-learning stamping tricks and this Mama Elephant post was one of those times!  Two things caught my eye with this card; 1) it looked watercolored and 2) I have a similar A Muse stamp set that will work great.  (I probably have several similar stamp sets if I looked hard enought!!!!)

PENNY BLACK COOL STUFF!
This is a beautiful tutorial by Heather Telford (Penny Black) where she uses only two Tombow markers!  It's a cloudy day as I'm typing this and I can't wait to head upstairs and play!

PRETTY WATERCOLOR RESIST!

Is it me or is everything I see on Pinterest all about watercolor???  I'm happy about it and I hope you aren't getting bored...
Hope you enjoy the Pinterest pin above and then my take on the technique!  The background is actually paper and not watercolored!!!!
SHIMMERZ PAINTS!
Another shimmery paint product is called Shimmerz and is identical to Twinkling H2O's in that the paint pot is hard and must be activated with water prior to painting.  I signed up to receive their posts and am not disappointed!  Click on my sample (a re-do of last week's card) photo for the YouTube link!  We'll be making this fun card at Club.
Another fun card we'll be making at Club and it is all shimmery goodness!!!  Click on the card for a YouTube link.

PAPER ARTS CLUB

June 22, 2016

PLEASE BRING THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL BASIC KIT ITEMS TO CLUB:
Waterbrush AND Paint Brush
White Uniball Pen (if you have one)
Black Fine Tip Sharpie or Copic Pen

Swap:  Red/White/Blue (any theme or patriotic)
Everson:  4th of July or Patriotic Colors
SOTM:  Emboss Resist

Create a card using any emboss resist technique whether you re-create one of the cards we made at Club or venture out on your own!
Here's a sample of one of the cards we'll be making at Club.  It is nothing like Sandy Allnock's card (click on my card), but that's the way things go sometimes.
I love my A Muse star dies and I'm thinking we all have some kind of star die or punch.  I would have cut one of the stars in a stripe or dot, don't you think?  Love this card design!!!!

ONE MORE THING!
My SIL, Peg, sent me a bracelet this past week that she made.  I had admired hers at my son's grad party last May and she sweetly sent me my very own!  Here's a photo of it.  I love the sea foam bead color and the detail on the metal.
As it happens, it was my brother (her husband), Sandy's, birthday on the 16th of June.  They have a lake house and I was motivated to try a painting for them.  So far, I've not given any paintings away but the timing was perfect.
Anyhoo, I actually painted this scene in a smaller version this past winter and thought it would work well for them.  Of course, I couldn't remember exactly how I had painted the first one which was a fraction of the size of this one.  I trudged on and at the end, decided I didn't like it and it needed my trusty Zig pen and scribbles.  Thank God for that option!!!!  I'm now happy with it and hope they will be too.  I call it Path to the Beach.
Scribbling is fun!!!!  Actually, it's called sketching, and there's a whole concept of painters out there who call themselves "Urban Sketchers."  The idea is to go places and sketch and paint anything that catches their eye.  I've linked it up in case you're curious.  I'm not quite there yet as I depend more upon reference photos.

Have a pleasant week!

xoxo
